This year has been a roller coaster ride with a worsening housing slump and then turbulent financial markets posing risks to the economy. After nearly stalling earlier in the year, economic growth has rebounded despite drags from a deteriorating housing market.

Rae D. Rosen, Senior Economist and Assistant Vice President at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York; Joel Naroff, Chief Economist at Commerce Bank; and James Hughes, Dean of the Bloustein School at Rutgers University will offer an in-depth look at the key factors underlying the economic and financial cross currents and will look at how the turbulence in the financial markets may affect the prospects for future growth.
