Event Description:
A Complimentary Manufacturers-Only Workshop

Learn About Training Grant Opportunities for Disaster Preparation, Prevention, Recovery and Growth.

Super Storm Sandy hit New Jersey with a vengeance and thousands of businesses were affected in a wide range of ways and severity. The storm bared weaknesses with respect to infrastructure, energy, technology, operation and insurance and even many who thought they were prepared, discovered they were not.

Led by New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP), this workshop will feature knowledgeable speakers with manufacturing experience who will provide basic information about:

Effective Business Continuity and Contingency Planning - power outage, blizzard, illness, supply chain disruptions and workplace violence are only a few of the events that you cannot stop but can be prepared.

Evaluating Your Insurance Coverage - you may be surprised to know what your policy does and does not cover and who can help you in times of need.

Data Recovery and Retention - in the event of fire, flood, malicious employee or other disruption, how likely are you to be able to save all of your important documents including corporate, customer and employee records, orders, invoices, etc.

Emergency Management - where do your employees and customers turn when there is a crisis? Effective communication and leadership are necessary to limit disruption and to protect your people and revenue.

State grants available for manufacturers to cover training in these areas.

Newark experiences - Newark manufacturers will share their best practices, success stories and unexpected crises during Sandy, and discuss how networking with other manufacturers can help prevent business disruption, such as subcontracting processes, relocating equipment, and borrowing emergency supplies.

Special Presentation from Firestorm's Blair Neville: Failure is Not An Option.

This is an exclusive invitation for Newark manufacturers to attend at NO CHARGE - pre-registration is required.
