Event Description:
What role should the non-profit board serve? What is the legal basis for the board’s responsibilities? What makes an effective board/executive director relationship? What is the board’s role in fundraising? How does the board engage in strategic thinking and planning? How do bylaws and policies promote sound decisions? What is the fiduciary responsibility of board members? Presenters will address these and other important issues relating to good governance. This session is ideal for non-profit organizations, individuals who sit on non-profit boards, those considering a board seat or individuals interested in serving on a board who want to know what it entails.

Presenters including Rene Deida, Program Officer, The Prudential Foundation; Ken Zimmerman, Member of the Firm, Lowenstein Sandler PC; Ron Matan, Member of the Firm, Sobel & Co.; and Brian Dean, Executive Director, Jersey Cares, will address these and other important issues relating to good governance. This session is ideal for non-profit organizations, individuals who sit on non-profit boards, those considering a board seat or individuals interested in serving on a board who want to know what it entails.

CPE credits will be available.

NRBP members pay $25 (non-members $50) before March 7. After March 7 and at the door, all attendees please add $10. Lunch provided courtesy of Sobel & Co.
