Event Description:
NRBP members are invited to participate in the NJ State Chamber of Commerce annual train trip to Washington and Congressional Dinner on January 27 and 28. Through an arrangement with the Chamber, you may pay the member rate ($560) for the networking experience that puts hundreds of the state's business and government leaders together on a chartered Amtrak train to the nation's capital where meeting and greeting continues at the reception and dinner.

Please see additional information from the State Chamber below. You must register thru the NRBP web site to qualify for the member rate. Attendees are responsible for their own overnight accommodations (not included in the train and dinner registration) and may call the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel at (202) 328-2000 for a special rate.

This year's event will honor the founding companies that have been Chamber members for ten decades, through thick and thin and the ups and downs of business cycles. The event will also look to the future with a revamped and more interactive dinner format, plenty of networking to help you through these tough times, and an opportunity to meet the Chamber's new president.

Why is it important for you to attend? It's the people you'll meet. As we emerge from the recession, it is more important than ever to ride the rails and meet face-to-face with as many potential clients as possible.

What is the Walk to Washington?

The tradition began in 1937 when several of the state's top business executives took a train to Washington to have dinner with New Jersey's congressional delegation - and the rest is history. The Walk to Washington obtained its name when folks realized that few sit on the train; they literally walk the train the whole way to Washington. The adventure begins when the Chamber's chartered Amtrak train departs Newark and our other scheduled stops - Metro Park, New Brunswick, Trenton, Philadelphia and Wilmington - for a ride to Washington.

Before You Return

And before you return, participate in the many related events provided by leading New Jersey businesses and organizations. Post-dinner hospitality suites and morning breakfasts are all part of the tradition. Our chartered Amtrak doesn't leave Union Station to Washington until late Friday morning but gets you home in time for dinner.

Registration Deadline: January 14, 2011

No refunds for cancellations after January 14.
There is a $25 cancellation fee per attendee before January 14. NRBP is handling the registration for the state chamber therefore the NRBP 2-day event cancellation rule does not apply to this event.
