Reception and Film Viewing (continuous 6 minute loop) at 6:00 p.m., Lecture 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.

NRBP invites its members to a Newark Museum reception and panel discussion with filmmakers Marylou Tibaldo-Bongiorno and Jerome Bongiorno. New Work is a six-minute black and white 3D film inspired by the 1920 avant garde film, Manhatta. Like the earlier film that traces a day in the life of early twentieth century Manhattan from dawn to dusk, New Work is an homage to early twenty-first century Newark in its beauty, its elegance and hidden treasures. Including poetry and music created by Newark artists, the film captures the life of the city’s streets, the magnificence of its architecture and the bustling energy of its ports and transit hubs.

The filmmakers will be joined on the panel by Beth Venn, curator of Modern and Contemporary Art as moderator and other community partners who supported and participated in the production of the film.

There is no charge to attend and parking is available on site for a nominal fee.
