Event Description:
Unlike the federal Family and Medical Leave Act and New Jersey Family Leave Act, even small businesses with fewer than 50 employees must comply with New Jersey’s Paid Family Leave Act. NRBP’s Paid Family Leave Workshop will focus on what employers need to know:

•Which employers and which employees are covered by this new law?

•What are the obligations of employers and employees under this new law?

•How are paid family leave law benefits taxed?

•What is the interplay between the various leave laws and benefit laws?

•What steps should employers continue to take in order to prepare for the pending effective date of the law?

•And questions from attendees.

Carla N. Dorsi, a member of the Employment Law Department of Gibbons PC, will walk members through their responsibilities under this new law. The majority of Ms. Dorsi’s practice is devoted to employment litigation and counseling on behalf of employers. Her experience includes defending wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, whistleblower and retaliation claims in both state and federal courts, as well as state and federal civil rights agencies.
