The Newark Bears professional baseball team lead by former New York Yankee Tim Raines as Manager are off to a thrilling 2009 season. Boasting a roster that includes fifteen players with a combined Major League experience totaling 100 seasons, the Newark Bears put together an impressive team of coaches and players including World Series winners Carl Everett and Keith Foulke. With General Colin Powell throwing out the first ball, Grammy Award winning singer Patti LaBelle signing the National Anthem on opening day and a number of solid wins, the Bears are well on their way to making Bears-Eagles Riverfront Stadium the place to be this season.
